At E-STEM Middle School, we focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math – all through environmental education. Situated on the Saint Paul-Woodbury border, E-STEM Middle School offers students opportunities to explore the amazing natural environment around them. A nearby pond and hiking trail serve as an extension of the classroom, where students can put what they learn into practice. Our teachers use technology to help students communicate with math as the language, and science and engineering as the process for critical thinking skills. Current 5th grade families interested in a daytime tour of E-STEM Middle School will be able to do so on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school choice window. Tours run from 9:15-10 a.m. Please register for this event so that we know to plan for tours that day. Currently, E-STEM Middle School does not offer a student shadow option.

We also encourage all families interested in E-STEM to attend our Rising Raptor Showcase on Thursday, February 1, from 6-7:30 p.m. During the showcase, families will be able to experience a tour, learn how to apply to our school, meet teachers and staff, and learn about the transition to middle school at E-STEM. We are excited to share E-STEM's many opportunities and what your student will experience as a part of our community. No registration is required for the Showcase Night event.

Middle school is full of exciting and challenging experiences for students. That’s why the middle school model centers around a team of students and teachers.

Foundations

Foundations is an advisory class to help ease the transition for students from elementary to middle school. This class is designed to build community, establish a strong support system and teach school expectations. Foundations is taught by one of the student’s core teachers from their team.

Exploratory Classes

Students also have opportunities to experience exploratory classes. Exploratory classes help middle school students gain skills, have fun and pursue their interests. Depending on the daily schedule, students may have opportunities for a different number of exploratory classes each semester/school year.
