My name is Courtney Schluender.  I am starting my third year here at Highland Park.  I have been teaching special education for 6 years.  I graduated from Concordia University, St. Paul with my Early and Elementary Education as well as K-12 licensure in Special Education.  In 2016 I completed my Master's Degree in Special Education with a additional license in Austim.  I currently live in White Bear Lake with my husband and 3 year old white lab, Akita.  We are expecting our first child this Fall.

This past year I attended IB/PYP training in Seattle and learned lots about our school and what the program has to offer.  I feel the learner profiles help our students in many ways learn and grow in their learning.  I love the different units of inquiry and how all the specialists and teachers work together to reach the same learning targets and student goals.

 I love working with students and helping students gain the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in the classroom.
