Hello Pre K Families!

Welcome to our new school year! PreK at Highland Park Elementary School is THE BEST!!!

My name is Laurie Weestrand I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year.

This is my 19th year teaching for St. Paul Public Schools! I taught Kindergarten for 14 years and this will be my 5th year teaching PreK at Highland.  I live in Apple Valley (by the Minnesota Zoo) with my husband, Jer.  I am a proud mom of two BIG kids! Alaina is 25 and finished with college and Bennett is 20 and currently in college at St. Mary's in Winona.  I also have two puppies (Beau and Daisy) who keep us very busy at home.

When I am not teaching, you might find me: heading to the cabin, cooking, looking for a new vegetable recipe, attending one of Bennett's hockey games, going for a walk or hike, planning a trip, reading, or traveling.

I am looking forward to all of our PreK adventures this year!
