  • I am so excited about teaching fourth grade at Highland Park Elementary. Before coming to Highland Park Elementary, I taught grades five through eight in Bloomington, MN. At my previous school, I coached the math team, led a writer’s club, and helped direct the spring musical. I am so excited to learn more about what your children love so I can support them in their academic, social, and extracurricular pursuits. I have four children: three in high school and one in middle school. Teaching is my second career. I was a professional musician for seventeen years before deciding to go back to school to be a classroom teacher. I continue to play flute and sing at various places around the Twin Cities. Fun fact: I get more nervous when speaking in front of people than I do when singing. I also have a wonderful husband who is a registered nurse as well as a self-taught auto mechanic, stereo technician, chef, gardener, and woodworker. My children and I spend a lot of time cleaning up after his hobbies, but the fun he adds to our lives makes it so worthwhile!
