-
Starting in the 2023-24 school year, Maxfield Elementary will become a Collaborative Learning School through a new partnership with the University of St. Thomas.
-
A COLLABORATIVE LEARNING SCHOOL
As a Collaborative Learning School, Maxfield will partner with the University of St. Thomas to train teachers, develop and apply best practices for teaching and learning, and provide professional development to create incredible student-centered learning environments. This innovative model will enhance our students’ ability to think critically, pursue their dreams and change the world.
What does this mean for Maxfield students?
Beginning on the first day of school, St. Thomas students and faculty members will partner with school staff to provide innovative and engaging educational opportunities for Maxfield students. St. Thomas faculty and current Maxfield teachers will partner to advance the profession through research and implementation of best practices.
One of the best things about this partnership is that it will help us develop and hire more teachers in the coming years. Research shows that better teacher preparation leads to better student outcomes. This will benefit not only Maxfield Elementary, but students and educators across the Saint Paul Public Schools district.
