Hello! My name is Leah Talus and I am a kindergarten teacher. I began teaching in 2013. I was born and raised in Eagan, MN, where I grew up knowing I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in first grade. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in English Language Arts. When living in Madison, WI I enjoyed attending Badger football games, sitting by the lake, and meeting new friends.

Upon graduating, I moved to Arizona and taught first grade for five years. While living in Arizona I enjoyed hiking, sitting by the pool, and being able to spend the majority of my time outside. Following my fifth year of teaching in Arizona, I decided it was time for something new and to be back with family, so I moved back to Minnesota and attended the University of St. Thomas where I received my master’s in special education. During my program, I was a resident in the building here at Maxfield. I am honored and excited to continue working at Maxfield this year! When I am not at school, I enjoy running, riding bike, or doing yoga, baking, reading, and spending time with friends and family! This past spring we welcomed our baby girl, Brielle into our lives. She has been such a joy!
