Families:

My name is Mrs. Julie MacGregor, and I am thrilled to begin my second year as your student’s 3^rd grade teacher at St. Anthony Park Elementary School. This is my 7th yeas with SPPS.  I have a special place in my heart for this school, having grown up in SAP, went here as a child and eventually graduated from St. Paul Central. My children also have gone here, so I have had a chance to experience this school as a student, parent, and now a teacher!

After leaving Minnesota, I received my undergraduate degree from Bates College in Maine, and then moved to San Francisco, California, where I became interested in teaching while working as an aide for students with a variety of special needs. I have my Master’s in Education from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and I lived and taught in Santa Cruz for 9 years. My husband, two children and I moved back to St. Paul in the summer of 2011. In my free time, I love to swim, hike, cross country ski, read, cook, and go to the beach and museums with my family. I adore being a teacher and feel lucky to have found a profession I love.

Communication with family members is very important to me, and I look forward getting to know students and families as well as I possibly can. There are many ways to get in touch with me:

1. Email me. The special email I use for families is Julie.macgregor@spps.org.  I check my email several times a day and in the evenings. I will gather email addresses over the first few days of school, and will send out a nightly email about the day, any homework your students may have, and alerts about upcoming projects. This email will contain the same information that students write in their planners each day. Please let me know if you do not wish to receive it or would like a paper copy each day instead.
2. Call or text my google voice number at (651) 888-3302. I am typically open to meeting in person, but due to COVID protocols, I am limiting meetings to online for now.  I am happy to meet at whatever time fits your schedule.

I am thrilled to have a chance to work with you and your student! With great expectations, I am looking forward to a happy and exciting 3^rd grade year for your student, full of scholarship, hard work, laughs, and growth in many ways.
