Haste Thee Nymph -- Grades 5-6, at their March Concert. This is a three-part English round written over 300 years ago.
Arirang -- Grades 5-6, at their March Concert. I arranged this Korean piece for recorders, glockenspiels, and metallophones. I had 7 students sing the high G pitch at the end and they nailed it!
Compositions (Fredrickson) -- Grade 6, at their March Concert. This is a composition task I assigned to students. Working in groups of 3-6, each student selected an instrument and created an ostinato except for one student, who freely improvised throughout the piece.
Compositions (Roe) -- Grade 6
Composition (Both Classes) -- Grade 6
Odun De -- Grades 5-6, at their March Concert. Odun De and Kabo, Kabo are Yorouban pieces from Nigeria.
Kabo, Kabo -- Grades 5-6, at their March Concert.
Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel -- Grades 5-6, at their March Concert. This 2-part African-American Spiritual was the students' favorite piece!
Lean On Me -- Grade 6 Graduation piece. The sixth graders and I arranged this piece together and they performed it beautifully at their Graduation. I used GarageBand to record their singing so they could self-assess and improve.
