Credit Information

  • HOW TO GRADUATE FROM GORDON PARKS HIGH SCHOOL

    • Earn 86 Credits (64 core credits/22 elective credits)
    • Suggested completion of a college and career assessment (ACCUPLACER, ACT, GRAD, ASVAB)
    • Pass courses with a ‘D’ grade or better.
    • Students credits as follows: One quarter (9 weeks): 1 credit, Six Weeks: .67 credit Three weeks: .33 credit

  • Ways to keep track of your credits while at GPHS:

    Senior Cohort: Students with 28 or less credits remaining are inducted into the Senior Cohort, and will receive amplified preparation opportunities for post-secondary study and life planning.

    College & Career Planning (Xello): Students plan their future while at GPHS by working on a college or career plan that spans at least two years beyond high school graduation.

     

    How much time will it take to graduate?  School Options:

    Classes at GPHS – Up to 28 credits can be earned per year during the regular school day (Up to 7 credits per quarter), Work Experience classes (2 credits per quarter), and GP Connect (up to 1 credit per quarter).

    Independent Study at GPHS – Students that are near graduation may work independently with teachers or with digital curriculum (online) to earn additional credits. See your counselor for more details.

    Projects at GPHS – Every quarter, teachers work with students on projects to enhance student learning and give the opportunity for students to earn additional credits.

    Evening High School –Earn up to 2 credits every quarter in Evening High School

    Summer School -Credits can be earned by attending Summer School. Summer School is the fasted way to earn credits in SPPS
