    COMPAS Artist-in-Residence: Chiaki O'Brien teaches students in a one-week session on Japanese SAORI weaving. 

    LEAPCreates - Winter Photos: Students and staff compose winter photos that celebrate this time of year in Minnesota. 

    Minnesota Fish Art Competition: Students submit drawings and narratives about their selected species of fish. 

    SPPS Annual Honors Art Exhibition

    2020 - 2021
    Mural and Community Garden Art:
    Students learned about muralists and created murals in the LEAP Community Garden. A new LEAP tradition?!

    Virtual Artist Visit:
    Artist Wing Young Huie returned for a virtual visit during the pandemic. Students participated in an art project inspired by Mr. Huie's photography. 

    SPPS Annual Honors Art Exhibition

    Minnesota Center for Book Arts "Power of the Press": Students learn about the history of printmaking through a virtual experience called "Power of the Press".Students watched videos and created a class poster through the Minnesota Center for Book Art around themes of empowerment and unity. These messages were hand-printed using set type on a printing press.

    Your Story, Our Story, Student Immigration Experiences: The national partnership with the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) and the Tenement Museum in New York City invited individuals to share their personal stories of American immigration.
