My name is Mr. Anderson.  I am very excited to work with you and your child.  It is going to be a year full of fun and learning.  I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us!  Here is a little bit about me. This is the start of my 9^th year at Highwood Hills and 24^th year in Saint Paul Public Schools.  I have Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Elementary Education.  I also have a Master’s degree in Education.  I come from a family of teachers, with over a dozen teachers in my family including both of my parents and a twin sister.

I am passionate about teaching.  It is my mission to create a love of learning with my students.  My goal is to for my students to become avid readers, creative writers, and math wizzes. In my spare time I love spending time with my family.  I enjoy the outdoors and love to golf and downhill ski.  I am also a big Disney fan, and have visited the parks on many occasions. I have two adult children. Emily is 24, married and is a soldier in the Minnesota National Guard, who currently deployed. Emily has her degree in Biology.  Benjamin is 20 and a Senior at the University of Hawaii studying communications. Benjamin also has a full time job working as an IT specialist at a school in Honolulu, Hawaii.

 It is important to keep communication open between us, especially during these uncertain times.  The best time to reach me while we are distance learning will be during my Office Hours, from 1-2pm.  I will have a google meet set up at this time each school day.  If you are not able to attend at that time, feel free to e-mail me at paul.r.anderson@spps.org.    I look forward to a great school year together.
