Welcome to US History at Murray! 

A little about me . . .

Before I taught at Murray, I taught at Expo Middle School as well as at Cleveland Quality Middle School. A few years ago, I joined the District's professional development initiative called Disciplinary Literacy. This allowed me to coach teachers across the district in all of our junior high buildings.

I graduated from Hamline University with a degree in History in 1992. I also have my Masters from Hamline, which I completed in 2001. I have been teaching in Saint Paul Public Schools since 1994.

A few personal details. I have two kids.  My oldest graduated from Como Park High School and is currently in the Minnesota National Guard as well as studying to be a Pilot at the University of North Dakota.  My youngest is in high school and is cautiously optimistic about graduating this year!

I love to read. I have been devouring all kinds of books, but I need a new series. Please give me some recommendations!

I love traveling during the summer.  When I wasn't doing summer school at Como Park High School, I spent time at our family farm in Pelican Rapids, traveled to Duluth and I went to an amazing number of concerts this summer.  Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Trampled by Turtles, & The Chicks.  I am also going to Brandi Carlile and Duran Duran at the State Fair this week!
