IT'S NOT ABOUT THE DESTINATION, IT'S ABOUT THE JOURNEY.

Hello! Welcome to English and journalism. My classroom is centered around my students; they teach me as much as I attempt to teach them. Middle School is a great age; everyday is new and different. And I get to go along for the ride!

Personally, I am Saint Paul Public Schools graduate. I attended Groveland Elementary, Highland Junior High and Highland Senior High. I loved my time in school! I spent my undergraduate years at Mankato State University where I graduated with my English degree. I returned to Saint Paul after graduation and immediately began teaching in the Saint Paul Public Schools. I finished my Master's Degree in Education at Hamline University.

In my free time I like to hang out with my family and friends, read, enjoy the outdoors, play volleyball and travel. I also like to watch my students and past students in their extracurricular endeavors. One of my favorite spectator sports is Como Baseball whose program is made up largely of Murray graduates!

My goal for my students is to teach them the skills that will allow them to effectively communicate with the world around them. I want them to be able to enjoy the spoken, unspoken, and written language that empowers and enriches our lives. And I want them to enjoy the journey.
