Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Altringer

Hi! My name is Nick Altringer and I’m happy to be at Murray Middle School this year. I will be teaching Life Science, Community Science elective, and Environmental Inquiry Immersion elective.

In class, I’m looking forward to engaging the students in lots of experiments, investigations, research and applied science in the “real world.” If you want more information about the courses that I teach, click on one of the links at the right.

I have been a teacher and at Murray since January of 2013. Prior to becoming a teacher I worked in the recreation and fitness industries. I guide fishing and fly fishing trips from trout and smallmouth bass. I also taught many youth how to fish and fly fishing through the University of Minnesota's Youth Programs in the years since graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Biology in 2002. In the fitness industry I managed a local fitness center and personal training departments.

I grew up in the northern suburbs here in the Twin Cities. In my “off time,” I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, camping, cooking, travel, hunting, and enjoying life.

My educational background: BS in Biology from the U of M, Teaching Licensure program at Hamline University. I got my Master's in the Art of Teaching at Hamline University.
