Mr. Xiong

About Me:

Soo dhowow. My name is Keng Xiong. I am a second generation Hmong American. Both of my parents are from Laos. I am so honored to be a part of history as a 3rd grade teacher for East African Elementary Magnet School. This feels like it has gone full circle for me to teach at a SPPS school because I grew up attending a SPPS school. It is a joy of mine watching students grow their knowledge and becoming more engaged throughout the school year. Grades are important, but seeing aggressive growth is even more satisfying. I believe in having positive relationships with all students and family members in order to help them all reach their fullest potential. I also believe in being firm when it is needed and having structure for your children so that they will know what to expect when they enter my classroom.

 School Background:

Like I mentioned above, I went to Frost Lake Elementary School in SPPS. I got my two-year degree at Inver Hills Community College and my Bachelors in Education from Metropolitan State University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a finalist for the President's Award.

I look forward to the potential of playing an important role in your children's education.
