In our schools and across the district, spring is a time of great change as we finalize our budget and, as has been the case for many years, determine what cuts are necessary to continue providing a high-quality learning and working environment for all of our students and staff.

Feeling Safe at School
It should go without saying that guns have no place in Saint Paul Public Schools, or any school for that matter. But we know that guns and other weapons have been found and apprehended in our schools, and schools across the country. Creating a safe school climate is everyone’s collective responsibility, and that includes staff, students, leadership at every level, and the community at large.

Dozens of SPPS Soon-to-Be Grads Earn Wallin Scholarships
Seventy-two soon-to-be Saint Paul Public Schools graduates have been awarded the prestigious Wallin Scholarship, courtesy of Wallin Education Partners. Each scholar will receive up to $16,000 over four years, plus advising and access to support. Many of the students were surprised about the scholarship when participating in a video with Wallin Education Partners.

Groveland Park Elementary is celebrating its 100-year anniversary! Students and staff have participated in events throughout the school year to honor this special occasion.

Johnson Senior High School Wins 12th State Badminton Title
Jonhson Senior High School and Washington Technology Magnet competed in the MSHSL badminton championship match on May 18. Johnson went on to win its 12th state title in an epic match. Congratulations to both teams!
