The mission of multilingual learning (MLL) is to promote academic achievement and English language proficiency of English language learners.

At Cherokee Heights, our MLL Programs consist of English Language (EL), Language Academy and Latino Consent Decree, or LCD Programs.

One fantastic full-time EL teacher and one amazing part-time EL teacher develop the communication skills and academic language proficiency of EL students so they can participate successfully in mainstream classes.

The EL collaborative model is used successfully at Cherokee Heights. EL teachers plan and teach with classroom teachers during Reader's Workshop, Writer's Workshop, and Math classes.
