Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Riesgraf

Welcome! I am Mr. Riesgraf. I have been teaching in Saint Paul Public Schools for 25 years. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from University of Northwestern in St. Paul, MN. I earned my Master's Degree in Technology Education from Lesley University in Cambridge MA. I spent my first 4 years teaching 6th grade and have been teaching 5th grade since.

I am an outdoors person. I enjoy skiing, hiking, biking, archery and motorcycling. I live north of the Twin Cities metro area and I am married and have 2 grown children. My family also has 2 cats, Toby and Lucy, that I talk about often. I have 2 grandcats and 1 granddog.

My classroom is very fluid in teaching and learning. Students have the opportunity to learn in many formats, explore new concepts using hands-on and technology resources and practice what they know in small groups and individually. Frost Lake's motto is "Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be a Learner and Be Safe" and my classroom holds these expectations all while having fun. I co-teach and collaborated with many other teachers in 5th grade, including an ELL teacher and a Special Education teacher. These adults come and go from our classroom daily, working with individuals and small groups.

I want to welcome you to the new school year! Feel free to contact me at the following:
