Mrs. Durnick

Welcome to 7th Grade American Studies!

My name is Mrs. Durnick, this is my 20th year as a social studies teacher and my second year at E-STEM. I have three kids and two big dogs. I love learning about new people and places. Traveling and gardening are two of my favorite things to do when I can fit them into our family's busy schedule.

American Studies is a fancy name for United States History. We try to figure out how our nation's history created our present. Understanding how the United States came to be is key to creating a better future for all Americans. We learn the rights and responsibilities of citizens and the roles they play in our democratic government. American Studies is a year long course for all 7th graders in Saint Paul Public Schools.

Students and their families are encouraged to check the Schoology pages specific to your class with Ms. Durnick for the most up to date class assignments, resources and information.
