ELL 4 is a year-long, intermediate English language learning course that helps students to improve their communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening), develop lifelong learning strategies (study skills and digital literacy), and enhance their academic preparation and everyday life skills through the study of the following eight instructional units:  Setting Goals, Health, Money & Consumer Issues, Employment, Workplace Soft Skills, Community, and Accidents and Emergencies.

Prerequisite: A score of 211 on the CASAS  83R/84R 

Promotion Requirements:

• 70% on the Narrative Reading Benchmark Test
• 70% on the Listening Benchmark Test
• 221 on the CASAS 83R/84R or 218 on the CASAS 185R/186R
