Information Technology Tier 1 ELL B2 and Higher

This is one of two classes for students interested in going into the Information Technology (IT) field.
Introduction to IT will:
- Give students the opportunity to earn Northstar Digital Literacy certificates in Basic Computer, Email and Internet.
- Help students understand basics of social media, digital privacy and security and how to be a good digital citizen.
- Introduce students to IT careers .
- Give students vocabulary for hardware and software computer components.

Information Technology Fundamentals Tier 2 (ELL C1 and Higher)

This class will focus on Technical Support Fundamentals, a Coursera platform where students gain skills and knowledge of computer history and understand IT career pathways. Students will be able to:
- Name hardware, software and platform components.
- Understand different operating systems and how they interact.
- Understand concepts around Internet privacy and security for digital citizenship.
- They will learn how to perform basic computer troubleshooting with customer/computer users.
- They will focus on customer service skills and will job shadow current field technicians and help desk support.
