• GED® Classes

Get your GED® and open doors of opportunities for your education and career!

When you take free in-person GED® classes at the Hubbs Center, they are led by licensed teachers. The classes cover all GED® test subject areas including Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Teachers work with students to set up an individualized learning plan based on each student's specific goals and educational needs. Our GED® Counselor, teachers, and tutors are here to support you along the way!

The average class size is around 10-12 students. Classes are available Monday-Friday in the morning, afternoon, and evening. They are located at the Hubbs Center in Saint Paul at University Avenue & Oxford Street (click here for a map and directions).

We also have online classes! Click here for the GED® Online program.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 19 years of age or older
(17 and 18 can take classes if they are not enrolled in K-12, but will need an approved Age Waiver to take the real tests.  The Hubbs Center will help students with the Age Waiver process.)

    • Current TABE Reading and Math scores
(TABE tests will be given during registration)

    THE PROCESS

    1. Register at the Hubbs Center.

Click here for registration information. During registration, you will take a TABE Reading and/or Math test to help with placement. You will be scheduled for a GED® Orientation.

    2. Attend your GED® Orientation.

During the Orientation, a GED® teacher will help you determine which educational preparation plan is the best fit for you. You will also receive a schedule for your classes to help you prepare for your GED® tests.

    3. Attend classes, study, and work hard!

Regular minimum attendance is required. There are free tutors available at the Hubbs Center to work with you if you would like.

    4. Schedule and take your GED® tests.

Your teacher will let you know when they think you are ready to take a GED® test in one of the subject areas with a likelihood of passing. The Hubbs Center is an official GED® Testing Center, so when you schedule your test, you can choose to take it at the Hubbs Center. Click here for more information about GED® testing.
