Three SPPS schools celebrate winter walking

Students at Chelsea Heights walk to school on a winter morning.

Three SPPS schools are celebrating walking this winter in different ways:

  • On February 5, busses at Chelsea Heights dropped students a half mile from the school. Students walked the rest of the way and got a little bit of extra physical activity before the start of the school day.
  • On February 7, Randolph Heights celebrated the day with its six student-led walk lines that walk to school every day, all year.
  • Crossroads Montessori and Science is also planning an extra winter walk with students on February 21, when students who arrive by bus will walk around the perimeter of the school grounds before entering the building. Students are also walking to a nearby park for walking field trips during the week.

Kudos to all three schools for celebrating walking during our Minnesota winters!
