Equity Learning Series for SPPS Staff Begins May 3

The Office of Equity is excited for the second year of the Equity Learning Series that begins May 2021. Our May focus will again be in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This series will provide time for reflection, learning, and considerations as we continuously navigate the resurgence and challenge of Anti-Asian rhetoric and hate.

  • May 3 - Asian American Identities & Experiences
  • May 10 - Racialization, Schooling, & "Model Minorities"
  • May 17 - Immigration Justice for Asian Americans: What Educators Must Know
Featured guests throughout the month will include Damu Vang; Hsajune Dyan; Jenny Srey, KaYing Yang, and Verna Wong

*Time - 6-7:30 p.m. via Zoom

Please register for the May sessions on PowerSchool. Clock hours and TA-LC hours provided. Administrators who attend all May sessions will receive 4.5 clock hours from the Minnesota Board of School Administrators.
