Hello!  I am so happy to be a part of the Teaching team here at JJ Hill Montessori.  This is my second year teaching at JJ Hill but it is my eleventh year of teaching Montessori Children's House students.  My passion for Montessori Education as well as educating the youngest children has grown immensely in my career. Thank you for trusting me with your child’s love of learning.

I grew up in Bemidji, MN with my Mom, Dad, 2 sisters and brother.  I graduated in 2002 from Bemidji State University with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Pre-primary Education.  From there, I substitute taught for 1 year in Bemidji, Bagley, Red Lake and Ponemah schools.  My first teaching job was as a Preschool Teacher for Early Head Start in Bemidji, MN.  I taught there for about 2 years and then took a leap of faith and accepted a job as a Children's House teacher at a new charter school in Hutchinson, MN.  Then I went to Saint Catherine University to obtain my Early Childhood Credential in Montessori Education.  Montessori is something I feel like I was made for.  I absolutely fell in love with the theory and pedagogy.  I met my husband in 2011 and after we married in 2013, we started looking to move closer to his work place in St. Paul.  After a few years to looking and communting, I was hired on for the school year 2015/2016 at JJ Hill Montessori.

Outside of the school setting, I am a wife and mom. We enjoy doing things like traveling, baking, reading, taking walks, visiting parks, movie nights and trying new restaurants!
