Home Economics
  • Students will have the opportunity to be exposed to activities which incorporate the sensory components of touch, taste and smell. In cooking, students experience choice making, turn-taking, following directions and the use of switches, communication symbols and devices.

    Home Economics is one of several areas within the school where students practice and generalize goals and objectives they are working on in the classroom. Home Economics also reinforces and supports concepts and standards for which the students strive. Students use adapted equipment such as bowls, spoons and other kitchen tools. Students get the opportunity to eat what they make, and if unable to, share with friends and families.
