Hello! 

My name is Lisa Houdek.  This site is designed to give you a little bit of information about who I am, how my classes function, and how best to contact me. 

I have a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. Prior to teaching, I worked in environmental consulting for 7 years in Illinois and Minnesota. The majority of my projects involved soil and groundwater assessment and remediation. I went back to school and obtained my Masters in Education in 2001. I immediately began teaching at Central and have been glad for that decision ever since! 

I teach Advanced Placement Environmental Science (full-year course), Anatomy and Physiology (1 semester course) and some years I also teach Marine Biology (1 semester course).

I co-chair Central's Science Department with Elizabeth Myers, and am also the Advanced Placement Program Registrar. I assist our building coordinator, Joleen Armstrong, with administering the program and getting students registered for their Collegeboard exams in May.
