Mission
To assist American Indian students in graduating from high school with a quality education and a positive cultural personal identity.
Indian Education staff visit Cental to provide unique cultural services to students and to collaborate with staff to support Native youth. Below is the current schedule of services:
Wednesdays 8:00 am - 3:00 pm in Room 4215 Catching a Dream School Counseling Programming
Kerrie Troseth, the Indian Education School Counselor, will be available to Native students on Wednesdays and will be offering the following services:
- Culture as Strength small groups (9th graders only)

Additionally, The Native American Heritage Club (student led) is offered after school on Wednesdays. Please contact Seneca (student) or Kisten Gillespie (advisor) for details.

Collaborative Partners
- The American Indian Family Center provides cultural services, including mental health support, family services, youth services, ceremonies, events, employment services, and more. Students and families can self-refer (do not have to go through Indian Education for services).
- Takoda Institute's Youth Employment Services (14-year-olds - 24-year-olds) supports with career services, resume building, "First Jobs", employment skills and training, and more. Contact Benard Turner at 612.341.3358 extension 163.
- Four Directions Pathway to Saint Paul College supports our Native youth to prepare for college through summer programming, paid internships, and financial empowerment teachings.
